About Us

Scarred4life fundraising society was formed in 2006 by me, Karl Scarr, where i wanted my holidays to be of the more adventurous variety, highlighting the charities i fundraise for, and so we completed the Scarred4life Sahara Rally 2007. This highly succesful event was covered by magazines such as "Land Rover Monthly" and radio stations including STAR 107 and the BBC.

With Scarred4life you bring your own vehicle and self drive in convoy, as a self sufficient unit carrying camping equipment and cooking facilities etc, (although regular stops at the stages have cheap/reasonably priced restaurants), starting in Cambridge, England, being led by our experienced expedition leader and accompanied by our team of mechanics.

The course through France and Spain can be seen on the itinerary page, where we cross the Gibralter Straits to Tangier in Morocco, the door into Africa. Our Moroccan interpreter, Saad, will welcome all in his usual generous and hilarious style and he stays with us for the whole of the Moroccan leg.

With our many years of experience in Morocco and our connections there, we can get huge discounts on good hotel accommodation if preferred, or camping if that is your choice. In our experience most people prefer to stay in relative luxury, beside a hotel pool, relaxing in 45 degrees of African sun, after along driving day, and then leisurely strolling around the cities sight seeing and buying artifacts and souvenirs, before retiring in a comfortable bed.

Our 2009 Rally covers the exact same route as can be seen in the further pages of my website, where 20 people successfully completed 7000kms in 10 days across Europe and Morocco, where we visited all the major cities and drove 300 miles through the Sahara Desert, having parties at various stages and culminating in the black tie ball in Tangier.

The 2007 rally can be read and seen in its full glory on my sister site www.sahararally.co.uk
